The king’s pet cat litter is in a rubbish can in London, which will be taken to a landfill in the UK.
The Royal Mail says the cat litter, which was given to King Henry VIII as a gift, will be destroyed.
The cat litter was discovered by a postman on a trip to St Pancras in the early hours of Friday morning.
It is estimated the litter is worth around £20,000.
It has been sent to a warehouse in the Midlands, which has been told to send it to a “clean landfill”.
The Royal British Legion said: “It’s a sad day for the Royal Mail.
Our thanks to the people who have donated this important item.”
The Royal National Mail says it is “grateful” for the donation.
