— The Florida State University team has been on lockdown for several days because of a skoon cat parasite.FSU athletic director Pat Narduzzi says it is precautionary but says it has nothing to do with the football team.
The team is on the verge of being forced to evacuate as a result of the parasite.
The skoon virus was first discovered in Florida in April and is believed to have originated in Asia.
It is spread through the ingestion of infected cats, feces and urine.
Fresno State coach Derek Mason says the virus has spread through multiple cities in South Florida.
He says the team will not be leaving campus until the end of the day.
The Seminoles are playing at Florida Atlantic University on Saturday.
